Obituary

Amie L. Stevenson, 89, died July 1, 2014, at Aurora Health and Rehab in Columbus. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, Alabama, with Gary Seay officiating. Mrs. Stevenson was born in Melbourne, Alabama, to the late Roy Clifton and Dena May Rector. She was formerly employed with Westinghouse Corp and North American Phillips as an assembly line worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. J. Stevenson Sr.; sisters, Aveola Duke, Lois Mordecai and Dorothy Blanton; brother, Thelmon Corbell; and one great-grandson. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Tomlin of Steens; son, A. J. Stevenson Jr. of Columbus; sisters, Eulene Gardner, Doris Parson and Elenor Hope, all of Columbus; brother, Dennis Corbell; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Phillip Bobo, Dennis Dwyer, Jerry Haygood, Roy Blanton, Cody Bobo and Roy Blanton.
