Andrew Shaun Leonard 44, of Enterprise, AL, formerly of Millport AL, passed from his earthly life to his eternal home Wednesday, March 1, 2023. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL.

Andy was born August 10, 1978, in Columbus, MS, to Larry and Charolyn Leonard.  He attended Millport and later South Lamar School, graduating in 1996. He was president of his senior class, Mr. SLS and played Football and Basketball for the South Lamar Stallions. Also, a graduate of the University of Alabama, earning is degree in Communication and Public Relations, Andy worked for several newspapers as a Sportswriter and Sports Editor. He met the love of his life at Southeast Sun newspaper in Enterprise, AL. They married and later welcomed a son.  Andy soon discovered that covering all the area ballgames left no time for being a dad to Charlie. So, he changed careers and became a certified Optician, working in Enterprise.

Andy is preceded in death by his grandparents Clinton and Irene Faulkner and Richard and Betty Leonard. Uncle Hewlett Faulkner, Uncle George Leonard, Uncle Benny Mordecai and Aunt Peggy Leonard Mordecai.

Survivors include his wife Samantha Hottell Leonard and son Charlie Leonard, Enterprise, AL, His parents Larry and Charolyn Leonard Millport AL, sister Ashley Leonard Miller (Mark), Roswell, GA, brother Adam Leonard (Jennifer) Pickensville, AL, Aunt Sherri Leonard Stripling, Great Aunt Kathryn Leonard, nephew Jackson Miller, niece Molly Miller, in-laws Kevin, Gayle, Adam & Katie Hottell, numerous cousins, and many friends.
