Audie Faye
Hunnicutt
June 30, 1937 – March 20, 2026
Audie Faye Hunnicutt, known affectionately by those who loved her as "Faye" or "Aunt Faye," passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of music, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on June 30, 1937, in Kennedy, Alabama, to John Henry and Ophelia (Honeycutt) Hunnicutt, Faye’s life was deeply rooted in her faith and her community. She spent the majority of her years in Reform, Alabama, residing there from 1959 until 2013. Throughout her journey, her church home was central to her life; she was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church in Kennedy, later joining First Baptist Church in Reform, and most recently, Grace Baptist Church in Columbus.
Faye was a woman of immense musical talent. She possessed a beautiful voice and spent years sharing her gift through quartets, trios, and church choirs. Whether she was lifting her voice in harmony or sitting at the piano or organ, Faye’s music was a source of joy and comfort for all who heard it.
Faye was defined by her quiet strength and fierce independence. Though reserved by nature, her actions spoke volumes. She was the "best kind of aunt," always ready to offer wisdom, practical insight, and unconditional love to her nephews. Her selflessness was her hallmark; she consistently put the needs of her loved ones before her own and was always the first to offer a helping hand.
In her quieter moments, Faye found joy in the simple pleasures of life. she was an avid cook and took great delight in collecting church cookbooks, preserving the flavors and traditions of her community.
Faye is survived by her sister, Annie Grace LaBranche; nephews, Michael LaBranche and Darryl (Brenda) LeBranche; great nieces and nephews, Jordan (Amanda) LaBranche, Hunter LaBranche, Sierra LaBranche, Brogen LaBranche, and Nathan LaBranche; and many beloved Hunnicutt and Honeycutt cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Ophelia Hunnicutt, and her brother-in-law, John LaBranche.
"Quiet in spirit but loud in her love, Faye’s melody will continue to play in the hearts of those who knew her."
