Charles Banks Lawrence, 82, of Millport, AL, passed away on January 8, 2025, in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Aldridge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Springhill Church Cemetery in Millport, AL.

Banks was born On April 16, 1942 to Harvey and Mildred Lawrence in the Mt. Olive Community of Millport, Alabama. He attended Millport High School and served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam. He married Christine Aldridge in 1966 and worked for United Technologies in Columbus, MS. for over 30 years. Banks enjoyed spending time outdoors doing yard work, gardening, camping and fishing with his sons and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Banks is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mildred Lawrence, and his wife, Christine Lawrence.

He is survived by his sons, Scott Lawrence and Toby (Tracy) Lawrence; sister, Sue (Larry) Northington, grandchildren, Justin (Misty) Pridmore, Jeremy (Kari) Lawrence, Harley (Michael) Holsonback; and great-grandchildren, Hudson, Emma Grace, and EJ.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bobbitt, Keith Box, Joel Puckett, Eric McAdams, Kenneth Crimm, and Brent Aldridge. Honorary pallbearer is Kenton McAdams.
