Barbara Ann Vail, 66, of Millport, Alabama passed away on December 31,2020 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama. There will be a private family viewing on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with a graveside service for family and friends at 2:00 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Millport, AL. with Bro. Donald Parker officiating.

Barbara was born on October 5, 1954 in Columbus, Mississippi.  She loved her family very much and loved to spend time with them. She was a strong person and a fighter. She loved to take Sunday afternoon drives. She loved cooking for her family and shopping at thrift stores and watching soap operas. One of her favorite things to do was going to her daughter, Melissa's pool and laying on the float; Melissa got her a new float every year. Barbara loved her mother and called her every day.

She is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Pickens. She is survived by her mother, Doris Loper, her husband, Jimmy Vail, a daughter, Melissa Tate, three sons, Douglas Murphree, Chris Murphree and Vic Gibson, a sister, Claudia Boone, a brother, Wayne Pickens, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren..

Pallbearers are Eric Tate, Bailey Tate, Hunter Tate, Noah Dismukes, Danny Boone and Danny Boone II.
