Bertha Mae Rushing, 83, formally of Kennedy, AL passed away July 7, 2020 at Generations in Vernon, Alabama. Funeral services will be July 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Mrs. Rushing was born on September 13, 1936 to Rev. Roscoe R Holliman and Alma (Strickland) Holliman. She worked in her younger days at Westinghouse in Reform, AL. She served as songleader for several years at Caines Ridge and taught a Sunday School class. She loved flowers and she had a beautiful flower garden.

She is survived by three sons, William Keith Rushing, Kevin Lee Rushing, Robert Stanley Rushing, two sisters, Opal Gay Carrell, Kathy Diane Holliman, three brothers, Lowery Wade Holliman, James Kenneth Holliman, and Daniel Ray Holliman. She is also survived by two grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luther Rushing, and two brothers, Bennie Wayne Holliman and Robert Harold Holliman.

Pallbearers are Barry Holliman, Craig Holliman, Jason Holliman, Eric Holliman, Dale Holliman and Andon Holliman.
