Betty Jones Leonard, 66, passed away on March 12, 2025 at her residence in Millport, AL. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Bro. Gary Seay officiating. Visitation with the family will be 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Betty was born in Starkville, MS on February 25, 1959 to Elbert and Ophelia Jones. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved gardening and just being outside. She also loved her horses.

She is preceded in death by her parents, along with her adopted father and mother, Robert and Doris McCafferty, sisters, Jean Bowles, Elizabeth Burns and Nancy Howard, two brothers, Greg and Jeff McCafferty.

Betty is survived by a daughter Katisha Guy (Ben), Phoenix, AZ., a son, Andy Duncan (Kelly), Millport, AL., sisters, Mary Jo Kurtz (Nick), Fayette, AL., Tabatha Scrivner, Tuscaloosa, AL., Janice Estis (Richard), Union Chapel, AL., Diane Findley (Ricky), Carrolton, AL., one brother, Dale McCafferty (Pam), Spanish Fort, AL. and a special friend, Mary Homan, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers are Larry Dickson, George Nichols, Michael Holman, Tim Scriver, and Bill McGrinn. Honorary pallbearers are JoAnn Glasgow, Dawn Fields, Krissy Glasgow and Tonya Jackson with West Alabama Hospice.
