Betty Sue Patchen, 78, a long-time resident of Kennedy, Alabama, passed away on July 6, 2024 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL, with Bro. David Long and Bro. Jeff Long officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel. Burial will follow at Kennedy City Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Betty was born on June 23, 1946, to the late Leo and Sara Long. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and she loved her dog "Buddy" and her cat "Buster." She loved to garden and tending to her flowers. She loved her church family and loved the Lord. She spent the last years of her life with her friend Jim Shelton.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Tonya Davis; son, George Patchen III (Tracy); sister, Pam Ayers; brother, Kenny Long; grandchildren, Dallas Dale (Dell Lackie), Madeline Gray (Cliff), Carlee Reese Murray (Hayden), Saylor Patchen; and one great-grandchild, Mable Ann Lackie.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Patchen Jr.; and her parents, Leo and Sara Long.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Gray, Tanner Williams, Hayden Murray, John Luke Long, Lane Gilliam, and Jerry Gilliam.
