Obituary

Mr. William (Bill) Allen Hollinger , age 59, of Millport, AL, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, in Millport, AL. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. Ed Nabors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Millport City Cemetery under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Mr. Hollinger was born June 1, 1962, in Columbus, MS. Bill loved to live life and smile while doing it. He played football for the Jr. Tide football team of Millport High School, where he also graduated in 1980. After school, he went to work at Weyerhaeuser Company. After Weyerhaeuser, he  worked for Leonard Trucking Company, where he drove a truck for 10 years. He later worked for the local water department, where he worked until his passing. He was a Grade 3 Treatment Plant Operator. In his spare time he went to the dirt track races and he also enjoyed working on the race cars. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and loved his Crimson Tide. When he wasn't at the races, he was hunting and fishing. He loved his family!!
Survivors include, two daughters, Brittney (Brad) May of Vernon, AL, Amanda Hollinger of Millport, AL, and one son, Austin Hollinger of Millport, AL. He had six grandchildren, Mackenzie Hollinger, MaKyleigh Hollinger, MaKinley Hollinger, Linzley May, Tryson May and Brix May.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Jack and Frances Hollinger and a son, Billy Jack Hollinger II (BJ).

Pall Bearers include, Larry Leonard, Larry Smith, Jamie Mast, Glen Akins, Daryl Rogers, Melvin Murphy, Jim Mathis and Jerry Glen Merchant.

Honorary Pallbearers are Thomas Pennington, Fred Savage, Allen Pennington, Sam Rogers, Darell Fields, Randy Fields, Qwade Murff, Josh Hayes and Rusty Weathers.
