Obituary
Mr. Billy Wayne Cargile, age 70, of Millport died late Tuesday evening, August 26, 2014, at his residence in Millport, AL.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday afternoon, August 28th, at 2 pm in the
Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel, with Dustin Semore officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, located on Highway 17 North, Millport.
Born in the Covin Community of Fayette County, AL on July 7, 1944, to the late Freddie Lee and Lois Johnson Cargile, Mr. Cargile was a long time resident of Lamar County, a graduate of Kennedy High School and a member of Millport church of Christ. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser Co., Millport, where he was employed for 27 years as a sawfiler. He enjoyed raising and caring for his chickens and other birds and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Pat Cargile; daughters Georgia Cargile of Caledonia, MS and Elizabeth Cargile of Foley, AL; son Ashley Cargile of Millport; sister Linda Weathers of Millport and 5 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Griffin, Joshua and Justin Hauerwas and Rusty, Greg and Jeff Weathers. Ashley Cargile will serve as honorary pallbearer.
