Obituary

Billy Joe Carroll, 79, of Millport, Alabama died on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.
He was born on March 22, 1940 in Pickens County Alabama to the late Robert and Mamie (Baines) Carroll. Mr. Carroll worked at Omnova Solutions (formally General Tire) for 30+ years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. The love for his grandchildren was unconditional, he enjoyed spending time with them all and watching them grow. The latest addition to the family, his first great-grandson, Oakley Joe, was his ray of sunshine and could definitely bring a smile to this Pop's face.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann (Ward) Carroll, sons Kenny Carroll (Patsy) and Jeff Carroll (Daneen) and a sister, Darcy McCool. 3 Grandchildren  and 1 Great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Barbara Kizzire and brothers Willard and Redus Carroll.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Dowdle Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Millport, AL.
