Obituary

Mr. Cameron Wade Ferguson, 63 of Millport, AL died Wednesday August 23, 2017 at his residence.

Cameron was born December 7, 1953, to the late Charlie Dean and Ruby Hazel Shepherd Ferguson of Steens MS. and was Married to his wife of 36 years, Linda Blakney Ferguson. Cameron was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Grady Steven Ferguson, Charles Ricky Ferguson, and Larry Wayne  Ferguson. Cameron is survived by his wife, Linda Blakney Ferguson, sons, Steven Ferguson (Lannie), Jonathan Ferguson (Kacy),
Bryan Ferguson (Fiance' Jennifer Ming), and Tyler Ferguson; Daughters; Teresa Sprayberry (Eric), Melissa Burns (Kevin), and Brianna Ferguson.
Grandchildren; Terrance Lucas, Jordyn Lucas, Josh Lucas, Walker Ferguson, Stone Ferguson, Kayden Mench, and his princess Lydia Smith;
Brothers; James Denny Ferguson, Phillip Dale Ferguson, Columbus, MS.; Sisters; Kay Anderson (Glen), Columbus MS., Ann Barton (Eugene), Ethelsville AL, and Vickie Benoist (Lee), Ridgeland MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Cameron was  a hard working , loving man whose health started declining the last few years. Cameron never met a stranger and would talk for hours to anyone who would listen. Often sitting on the bench in Walmart talking to the greeter if there was no one else around. He loved his friends and family dearly and never forgot anyone that he ever met. Cameron was a member of Springhill Baptist Church in Millport, Al where he begun attending regularly when his health would allow. In addition to his family and friends, Cameron dearly loved dirt track racing, NASCAR racing, and Alabama Football.

Cameron lived most of his life in Columbus MS, where he went to school at New Hope High School. Cameron worked many jobs in Columbus, MS, he worked at APAC in security for many years as well as GTR Airport in security. He worked for motor Supply Company for many years before moving to Millport, Al in April, 1981. Upon moving to Millport, Cameron worked at  Weyerhauser in security before going to work at Sears in Columbus working in the warehouse.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 pm prior to service.

Officiating will be, Bro. Matthew Fancher, Bro. Caleb Hughes, and Bro. Doug Blakney.
