Obituary

Maude Cathryn Dawkins Boyett was born on May 25, 1950 in Millport, Alabama to Burris Durwood Dawkins and Tommie Willett (Stokes) Dawkins.  She passed away on January 21, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 27 days old. She was surrounded by her children David Boyett (Kim) and Karen House (Tra) upon her passing. She was a life- long resident of Millport, Alabama. She is a 1968 graduate from Millport High School and a 1969 Graduate from the Hamilton School of Nursing where she received her LPN license. Some of her hobbies and interests throughout her life include: Going to the beach, reading, watching old westerns, listening to Elvis music, and cheering on the Crimson Tide Football Team.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Burris Durwood Dawkins and Tommie Willette Dawkins, a brother Charles Durwood Dawkins and sister in law Virginia Lou Dawkins, two nephews: Charles Russell Dawkins and Charles Edward Walker.

She is survived by her son David Boyett (Kim); a daughter Karen House (Tra); a brother Billy Joe Dawkins (Sherrel); a brother and sister in law (Hugh and Lana Windle); 11 grandchildren: Tristan Boyett, Tucker Boyett, Treyson Boyett, Topher Boyett, Kyndal Robertson, Zeiss Robertson, Hunter Williams, Clint Williams, Andrew House, Kylee House, Natalee House; a host of nieces and nephews, and a husband Renely Boyett.

She was so many things to so many people. She left our lives way too soon and she will be greatly missed.  Our family would like to take this time to thank everyone for the kindness shown during the week we stayed with Mama and also the days following her passing.  Please continue to keep our family in your prayers during the days and weeks to come.

There will be a private family graveside service at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Millport under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.
