Charles (Bubba) Fields, 79, of Oneonta, AL, formerly from Millport, AL, passed away October 14, 2021, at TLC Nursing Center in Oneonta, AL. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 17, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL, with Bro. Stephen Moro officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Dowdle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Millport City Cemetery under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Bubba always loved to hunt, fish, and he loved going to the beach. He also loved to go to the river. Bubba loved to spend time with his family and friends. He worked in maintenance for more than 40 years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Allene Gartman Fields, his father, Jessie L. Fields, his mother, Opel Leonard, his daughter, Tracie Fields Shelnut, his brother, James R. Fields, grandsons, Jessie L. Fields II and Miles Thomas Sanford, and a granddaughter, Amber N. Shelnut.

He is survived by daughter Meagan Trentham (Tray) of Sulligent, AL, Jodie Brownlee (Corey) of South Haven, MS, son, Charles H. Fields (Rhoda) of Millport, AL, sisters, Pat Leonard and Joyce Childress, brother, Marlon Fields, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Shelnut, Will Shelnut, John Renfroe, Peewee Jornagin, Austin Fields, Zachary Fields and Jessie Shaw.
