Charles James Keating, 94, of Millport, Alabama passed away on October 25, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, October 27, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama. Funeral services will be Thursday, October October 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Millport, AL. with Bro. Jimmy Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Charles was born on July 24, 1927 to Thomas Bama and Mollie Lee (Homan) Keating in Millport, Alabama. He had a love for trucking for over 72 years and had a love for his vegetable garden, which he kept until the last year of his life. Charles was an outgoing person who loved his family. He loved life and never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by a son, Jack Douglas Keating, 2 daughters, Elaine Fultz and Martha Johnson, sisters Trannie McCrary, Maggie Pate, Adie Dean, Mattie Lou Reece, brothers Bill, L.D., Elton, Renzo and Elmer Keating.

He is survived by sons, Larry Keating, Michael Keating and James Keating, daughters, Linda Thrash, Bama Thrash, Gail Hixon and Trannie Cochran, a sister, Jessie Lee Kelly, 21 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stevie Fultz, Jeff Fultz, Zach Palmer, Allen McCrary, Floyd McCrary and Robert Earl McCrary.
