Christine Adger Fay Knighten Sykes, age 86, of Atlanta, GA passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016.  A true coal miner's daughter, Christine was born in Cullman, AL, to the late Edgar and Martha Knighten.  Following college, she worked as an office manager for the United States Army at Ft. McPherson, retiring there in 2002.  Christine, a true Southern Lady, enjoyed classical and old rhythm and blues music, and dearly loved her son and her grandchildren.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Benny, Jr. and Cathy Sykes of Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, David F. Sykes, Stacey S. Stowers, Jeffrey B. Sykes, Catherine C. Sykes, and Bridgett D. Sykes; great grandchildren, David J. Sykes, Paige N. Sykes, Preston Stowers, and Payton Stowers.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Fernbank, AL. with the visitation at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
