Obituary
Clarice McNees Nethery, 88, of Millport Alabama, passed away July 24th, 2017, at DCH of Tuscaloosa.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00-2:00PM at Dowdle Funeral Home, with Rev. Neal Hodo and Rev. Buddy Irving officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mrs. Nethery was born September 18, 1928 to the late Johnnie and Eva Mordecai Fowler in Lamar County, Al. She worked a number of years in the garment industry and American Bosch before her retirement. Mrs Nethery was a member of Vernon United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Mervin McNees, Sr. and Travis Nethery, sisters Idell Branyon, Adell Murphy, Nettie Sprouse, and Ruby Zell Fowler, brothers, M.C. Fowler, Norman(Doc) Fowler, and Marion Fowler, two infant sons, Johnnie Will McNees and Michael Wyane McNees and grandson Derek McNees.
She is survived by her sons; Don (Jo) McNees, Dale (Cathy) McNees, Mervin (Wanda) McNees, Jr. all of Millport, AL Two sisters, Lola Haskell and Alice Christian both of Birmingham, Al, sister-in-law Ann Fowler, Columbus, MS. 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grand Children.
Pallbearers will be: Phillip McNees, Jonathan Burns, Brooks Moss, Freddie Fowler, Larry Fowler and Steve Adams.
