David Dwight Ayers, Sr

David Dwight Ayers, Sr., 65 of Millport, Alabama died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle  in Columbus, Mississippi.

Born Monday, January 21, 1952 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the Late Ravis D. & Betty Louise Patterson Ayers.A graduate of Millport High School class of 1970 he attended Walker College. Mr. Ayers retired from Weyehaeuser Co. after 39 years service. He was a avid outdoorsman and enjoyed South Lamar High School Sports and was a member of Miss/Ala Hunting Club.David was a member of The Church of Christ.

Surviving are his Wife Pamela Long Ayers of Millport, sons, David Dwight Ayers II, of Millport, AL, Lance(Jennifer) Ayers of Northport, AL, Josh Fields of Millport, AL and Dustin (Tara) Fields of Vernon, AL, daughter, Kellie Jo (Winn) Prescott of Vernon, AL, sisters, Sandra Spears of Raymond, MS, Karon (Mac) Hall of Millport, AL and Susan Ayers of Millport, AL. 9 Grandchildren, Trey, Waylon, Anna Beth, Presley & Evan Ayers, Ava Kate & Will Prescott, Kinleigh & Gunner Fields.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Chriatian Chapel, with Marty Gottwald & Jeff Long officating

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Dowdle Funeral Home,

Pallbeares will be John Prater, Leroy Jordan, Tommy Ayers, Zane Shackelford, Brad Williams, Shane Robertson, Stan Criswell, Glen Mordecai.
