David Homan, 67, of Millport, AL, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at his residence. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Belk Baptist Church in Belk, AL, with Rev. Gene Nabors officiating and Trevor Ford assisting. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow immediately following the service at Antioch Cemetery in Belk, AL.
David was born December 22, 1958 to Bud and Ruby Homan in Fayette, Alabama. He graduated from Millport High School and was a deacon at Belk Baptist Church. He served his community for several years being a member of the South Lamar Rescue Squad.
He will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, quick wit, and the laughter he brought wherever he went. He loved playing pranks, telling jokes, and making those around him smile. Beneath his playful personality was a kind and caring heart. He deeply loved his family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support to those in need. His love, humor, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by wife, Mary Porter Homan; aunt, Elizabeth Randolph; uncle, Jack Homan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ruby Homan; brother, John Homan; mother-in-law, Ruby Porter; father-in-law, Ray Porter; and his beloved buddy, Will Wharton.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Fowler, Tyler Fowler, Joseph Vail, Caleb Wharton, John David Ray, Nathan Porter, Brady Porter, Dustin Homan, and Greg Jones.
