Deborah Ann Cobb, 73, of Millport, Alabama, was born on August 7, 1951 in Oakland, California to Ora Mae and Cleveland Cobb, Jr. She departed this life on April 22, 2025 at Fayette Long Term Care. Deborah confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She is a 1969 graduate of Todd High School. She married Melvin Keith Lacey and moved to Montross, Virginia in 1971 where she worked, raised her daughters and attended Siloam Baptist Church. Upon returning to Millport in 1983, Deborah reunited with Holly Grove M.B. Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was a member of the choir, Missionary Society, kitchen committee, youth Sunday School teacher and the church treasurer. Deborah was a member of the Millport Housing Authority Board of Directors. She loved cooking, baking, serving others and her grandbabies. She retired from Rhett's Food Mart & Deli in Millport.
Deborah is preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Quinton Keith Lacey, brothers Michael Cobb, Frank Cobb and Steve Cobb, parents-in-law Arthur & Florine Lacey, and brother-in-law Ricky Lacey.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Angela (John Baylor) Lacey, Montross, VA and Cynthia (Robert) Hood, Millport, AL; grandchildren, Candace Renee Lacey, McCalla, AL and Cameron Lacey Byrd, Tuscaloosa, AL; great-grandson, Tristian Dakota Kellogg, McCalla, AL; brothers, Jim Cobb, Santee, CA, Dale (Beverly) Cobb, Columbus, MS and Keith (Anita) Cobb, Millport; sisters, Mary Hood, Millport, Sandra (Jose') Busby, San Bernadino, CA, Diane (Willie) Davis, Millport, Rosemary (Reggie) Nelson, Rialto, CA, Shirley Jones and Sharon Cobb of Millport; sisters-in-law, Janet Lacey, Montross, VA, Abbey (Dave) Johnson, Doswell, VA and Charlotte (Tony) Scott, Jacksonville, NC; brothers-in-law, Leonard
Lacey, Stafford, VA, Robert Lacey, Warsaw, VA and Maurice (Margaret) Lacey, King George, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special friend and roommate, Mary Louise Nichols.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Holly Grove M.B. Church in Millport, Alabama at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery in Millport, AL. under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.
