Dorothy Nell Fowler, 94, formally of Kennedy, AL., passed away on 8/28/2023 at Generations of Vernon. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Rev. Kevin Dixon officiating. There will be a family visitation one hour prior to the service.

Dorothy, or "Dot" as she was known around Kennedy, was born in Lamar County on June 14, 1929 to Earlie and Maybell Poole. She was a member of St. Paul CME church in Kennedy where she was the pianist for many years. Dorothy loved cooking, sewing and spending time with family and friends. She loved her church and was very active there.  With her sweet and feisty personality, Dorothy made an impact on everyone she met.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wardell Fowler and a daughter, Mary Tedford. She is survived by a daughter, Tommie Williams, Tuscaloosa, AL and a son, Robert Earl Hughes, Kennedy, AL., 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
