Dorothy Jean Ogden was born December 9, 1951 in Millport Alabama to George Lester and Robbie Lee   ( Sturdivant ) Ogden. Dorothy Jean passed on to glory on Sunday July 3, 2022 at Lamar Haven Group Home in Vernon, Alabama. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama, with Rev. Michael Brock officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery in Millport, AL.

Dorothy Jean was disabled from birth and had to be taken care of in assisted living facilities, but she was always a vibrant, loving person. Dorothy Jean loved everyone, especially her nieces and nephews. Dorothy Jean is a member of New Grove Baptist Church and her pastor is Rev. Michael Brock ( one of her favorite cousins ).

Dorothy Jean was preceded in death by her parents, father George Lester Ogden, mother Robbie Lee ( Sturdivant ) Ogden, three brothers George Lester Ogden Jr., Bobby Ogden, Billy Ray Ogden and four sisters.

Dorothy Jean leaves to cherish her sweet, beautiful memories her sisters Glenda Blanchard, Lynnette Ogden, Myra Dixon of Millport, AL, Bridgette O. Glover of Pelham, AL, and Melody Cobb. Anne Sturdivant, her first cousin and special care giver, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, one uncle, Troy Sturdivant, cousins, friends, employees and housemates of Lamar Haven.
