Our sweet earthly father, Nelson Douglas Walters, 80, took his heavenly flight on August 10, 2020. He was at West Alabama Hospice in Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral services will be August 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. Mike Trull officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Millport, AL. under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Doug was born on January 19, 1940 in Caledonia, MS to the late James Nelson and Amanda (Andrews) Walters. He retired from United Technologies in Columbus, MS. and was a faithful member of Millport Baptist Church.

Doug had such a kind way about him. He loved God, his family, his church and friends. He was a hard worker and will be forever missed by his daughter, Janea and his loved ones.

He is survived by his sweet wife of 32 years Della Walters, a daughter Janea Butts (Mike), 3 grandchildren and a cousin, John Andrews (Dot), Columbus, MS.
