Douglas Edward "Eddie" Funderburk, age 77, of Millport, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Born on February 15, 1948, Eddie was the son of the late Davis and Louise Ford Funderburk. He was a gifted and distinguished carpenter whose craftsmanship touched the lives of many. Eddie also had a deep love for Southern gospel music, often lifting his voice in song. In addition, he found joy in fishing and spending time outdoors. Above all, he loved Jesus and lived a life that reflected his faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Billy Funderburk; and sisters, June Hooper and Joyce Taylor.

He is survived by his children: Amy Shaw (Kyle), Trinity Wyers (Renee), Shawn Funderburk, Tonya Flathers, and Ronda Stokes; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Eddie is also survived by his siblings Carolyn Lowery (EJ), Darrell Funderburk (Jeanie), Rita Balchus (Bob), and Larry Funderburk (Debrah).

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Public viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Eddie will be laid to rest at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Shaw, Karden Shaw, Matt Funderburk, Greg Lowery, Aden Tucker, and Alston Tucker.
