Elizabeth Ann Ward Carroll, age 87 of Millport, AL passed away peacefully to her eternal home on Friday, September 18, 2026. There will be a visitation Sunday evening September 20,2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with the funeral service starting at 3:00 PM With Bro. Gary Seay officiating. The interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
Ann was born March 21,1939, to the late Hunter and Selma Ward in Fernbank AL. She worked for many years in production at United Technology, until her retirement. She was a member of Steens Church of Christ. Ann was a beautiful and loving soul, she loved and she loved big. If you needed her she was there for whatever, even if it was to whip up a batch of her famous hush puppies or caramel cake she got it ready. She was known to many as " Memaw " not only to her grands but to many many others that have become family to her over the years.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Carroll, son Kenneth Joe Carroll, Brothers Lanny Ward and Paul Ward.
Survivors include her son Jeff Carroll (Daneen) of Columbus MS. Daughter in law Patsy Carroll of Millport AL. Grandchildren Dustin Carroll, Hunter Carroll (Magen) of Columbus MS, and KC Carroll of Millport AL. Great-grand children Oakley Carroll and Hunter Rose Carroll of Columbus MS. A very special sister in love Annie Lois Carroll of Steens, MS and a host of nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Carroll, Hunter Carroll, KC Carroll, Mark Ward, Tim Ward, Avery Ward, Alan ward, and Alex Ward. Honorary pallbearers Joe Ables Sr., Joe Ables Jr., Wayne Baines, Past employees of United Technology, members of Steens Church of Christ, Mitch Barrentine, and Darrell Whitford.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Friendship Cemetery fund, 198 Friendship Lane, Millport, AL 35576.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Brett Brown and his nurse Lashay and the nurses and staff of Baptist Hospice Care. A special thank you to her sitter Kim Wright, we can't thank her enough for all she's done.
