Emma Jean Richards, 85, of Millport, AL. passed away on July 30, 2023 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. Randy Raper officiating. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Shiloh (Pinhook) Cemetery near Vernon, AL.

Jean was born on December 24, 1937 to Benton Cager and Mabel (Hull) Stokes. She was an inspector at Millport Manufacturing for over 40 years. She and her husband of 66 years, Dan Richards were in the dairy business and she loved working with 4-H students on their dairy projects. Jean was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years. She loved talking about her grandsons Stephen and Chase and her great-grands Aaron and Will.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Barney, Tommy, James and Mike Stokes. She is survived by her husband, Dan Richards, son Mark Richards (Debbie) and brother Kellon Stokes (Carolyn), 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Wayne Robinson, Darrell Fields, Greg Norton, Stephen Richards, Chase Richards and John McDaniel.
