Mrs. Emmer Jean Black, 87 long time resident of Millport, Al died Wednesday October 25, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 noon Friday October 27, 2017 at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel with  Sonny McLellan officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Millport City Cemetery.

Born August 7, 1930 in Millport, Al to the late Culbert and Mary Kate Kluttz McDaniel. She attended Millport High School and worked for the Cap Factory, Hershey Chocolate Co. in Pennsylvania and Seminole Co. in Columbus, Ms where she retired. She was a member of Millport Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Culbert Lamar McDaniel and Mary Kate Kluttz McDaniel. Spouse Robert K. (Jack) Black. Brothers James Glenn McDaniel, Carl Preston McDaniel and Bibb Lamar McDaniel.

Survivors incle sons: Phillip (Shelia) Black, Bill (Gail) Black and grandson Christopher (Nikki) Black and great granddaughter Ashlee Lynn Black all of Millport, Al.  Brother Franklin (Patsy) McDaniel of Columbus, MS, step-grandchildren: Tammie Ray of Millport, Al and Linda Easter of Columbus, MS and a host of step great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are members of Millport Church of Christ.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Wayne McDaniel, Ronnie McDaniel and Ray McDaniel.
