Ernestine Wilson, 101, of Kennedy, Alabama passed away on June 23, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be Monday, June 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel with Rev. Michael Brock officiating assisted by Rev. Kevin Dixon and Rev. Jeremy Brock. Interment will be at New Grove Cemetery in Kennedy, AL. under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Ernestine was born July 26, 1919 in Kennedy, Alabama to Lathan and Effie Wilson. She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Yvonne Wilson, brothers Lonnie, Oscar Lee, James V., Houston Wilson, sisters Galvester Cooper. Sisters Rosetta Wilson, Ruby Poole and Ruth Hillman.

She is survived by her daughter Ruby Jean Hayden of Kennedy, a niece, Effie Cooper, who Earnestine raised and considered a daughter,                   7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and a community that mourns her passing.

Pallbearers will be Darryl Wilson, Lebaron Hayden, Brad Cooper, John Cooper, Malik Cox and Darrius Wilson.
