Eugene Foster, 79, of Kennedy, Alabama, passed away on May 25, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services will be May 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Crowley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Eugene was a life-long resident of Kennedy, AL and he graduated from Kennedy High School. He served 4 years in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He spent many years coaching his sons on the PeeWee football field and loved to watch Alabama football on Saturdays. Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Nellie Sue Maddox Foster, daughter Sonia (Robbie) Lawson, two sons, Scott (Crystal) Foster and Shane (Lisa) Foster, a sister, Margaret Freeman, a brother, Wayne Foster, his Aunt Mary Eleanor Clark, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady Wilson Foster and Layla Kate Hughes Foster and two sisters, Margene Rushing and Elaine Green.

Pallbearers will be Chase Landrum, Zach Foster, Bill Freeman, Mike Freeman, Trey Gilliam and Clay Gilliam.
