Leona Fay Stripling, 89, of Kennedy, Alabama, passed away at her residence on March 31, 2022. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Bro. Mark Dean and Bro. Marshal Sutton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Kennedy City Cemetery in Kennedy, Alabama, all under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stripling was born on January 18, 1933 to John Thomas and Margie (Campbell) Mordecai. She was a pastor's wife for many years. She loved the church and was very active in the ministry. She worked for 30 years at Westinghouse and 10 years at Chromolox. Fay loved working in her yard and with her flowers. She loved her family and friends, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and trips to the Smokey Mountains.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Barrett (Wyman) and Evelyn Tippett (Lee) of Kennedy, AL., a sister, Martha Perry and a brother, Flay Mordecai, 9 grandchildren and 1 step-grandson, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, sisters Evie Malone, Hazel Axmacher, Sue Pennington, Shirley Weaver, brother Berry Mordecai and grandson Chris Tippett.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Hollingsworth, Caleb Dean, Nathan Dean, Joshua Hudson, Justin Hudson and Christian House.
