Gaylor (Gayle) Weems, 86, formally of Millport, AL passed away on July 15, 2020 at her residence in Fayette, AL.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Springhill Baptist Church in Millport, AL. with Bro. Matthew Fancher officiating. Visitation will take place Saturday night, July 18, 2020 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at the church with Dowdle Funeral Home directing. The family has requested that masks be worn. Interment will be at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Gayle was a resident of Millport for many years. In 2018, she moved to Fayette AL. She worked at Prater's in downtown Millport for 17 years. Gayle drove a school bus for 18 years and stopped driving when she was 80 years old. She loved to cook and her specialities were fried apple pies and caramel cakes. She was also a fantastic seamtress.

She is survived by a son, Karl Price Weems, Fayette AL., two daughters, Kim Weems Ary ( Gordon), Fayette, Al. and Keena Weems McDill , Steens, MS. 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Margaret Frances Pearce ( Ellis), Hamiliton, Al. and Jewel Dean Wallace, Belk AL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lummie Lee Moore and Effie Lelia Wheeler, her husband, William Aaron Weems. She is also preceded in death by two sisters Ola Grace Moore and Sue Moore Godfrey and two brothers, Harlon Ray Moore and Richard Lee Moore.

Pallbearers will be Mark Battle, Kyle Otte, Bailey Aldridge, Braden Ary, Bart Ary , Bret Ary, Rodney Aldridge and Ray Hancock.
