IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenda
Propst
March 10, 1944 – July 27, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Ruth Propst, beloved Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, Wife, Mother, Daughter, and friend, who left this world peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on March 10, 1944 in Bessemer, Glenda lived a life rich in love, kindness, and quiet strength. She was the daughter of Jack and Elaine Thompson, who instilled in her the values of compassion, resilience, and family devotion—qualities that defined her throughout her life.
A loving wife to Eddie Propst, Glenda shared a partnership built on mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a home where love was the foundation and where every guest felt like family.
As a mother and grandmother, Glenda was the heart of the family—always ready with a warm meal, a listening ear, or a word of encouragement. She nurtured generations with grace, offering guidance and gentle wisdom that will echo for years to come. Her greatest joy came from being a great-grandmother, delighting in the laughter of little ones and the continuation of her legacy.
Her presence brought comfort, and her absence will be deeply felt. Glenda leaves behind a family who adored her: son Mike (Aimie), Grandchildren Kristi (Jacob), Kenny, Krystal (Colton), Alexandra and Great- Grandchildren Anna Carson, Brody, Riley Kate, Addie, Lynlee, Tinley, Maddie, Braelyn, and Stetson. She was preceded in death by husband Eddie and daughter Debra Lynn.
In every role she held, Glenda was a quiet force of love and steadiness. Her memory will live on in the traditions she started, the stories she told, and the lives she touched. A service to celebrate her life will be held on July 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Bro. Jordan Lollar officiating. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be at Unity Grove Cemetery in Palmetto, AL.
Pallbearers are Jacob Elmore, Colton Turner, Kenny Colvin, Broady Colvin, Jackie Thompson and Adrian Watson.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to Nick's Kids (1130 University BLVD Ste B9-201, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401).
