Glenn Baswell, 61, of Hamilton, MS, originally from Millport, AL, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Northwest Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL with Bro. Gary Seay officiating and Bro. Jason West assisting. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Millport, AL.

There was nothing more important than his family. He was a son, brother, husband, father, coach and friend, but there was no title he loved more than being “Poppy”. He loved his family more than anything. Especially Fred, chances are when you see one, you seen the other, chasing tennis balls on a ball field or the infield of the Mag. He was a devoted father whose strength, love and discipline taught hard work, integrity and resilience. He was always in their corner and just a phone call away when needed. As Poppy, he made sure the grandkids got all the ‘poppysicles’ and sweets they wanted. Coaching ball was more than teaching techniques, he instilled what hard work was, on and off the ball field. There is not a single one of us that isn’t going to miss him every day, think about him cutting up, or giving out a free Moose kiss that not a single one of us asked for. Life as we all know it will forever be different, a forever void where there wasn’t one before.

 Glenn is survived by his wife, Andlyn Sanders Baswell; father, James Baswell; daughter, Jamie Turner (Bryant); sons, J.J. Baswell (Amanda), Todd Robinson (Madison), Cole Robinson (Morgan), Sam Robinson (Emma Rose); sister, Debra Rhinewalt (Edward); and 9 grandchildren, Bailey (Rowen), Chole, Hallie, Bentley, A.J., Sybil, Cannon, Elsie, and Jett.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Baswell.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Brock, Mike Patrick, Melvin Murphy, Kenneth Crimm, Jamie Sudduth, Daryl Funderburk, George Prater, Glen Hardin, and Curt Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Fields, Mark Ward, Ben Stough, Scotty Murrah, Richard Bean, Bill Autry, and Mark Davis.
