Services: Saturday April 6, 2019, at 1:00PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Fayette AL. Chairman will be Jim Stough, talk and concluding prayer will be Raymond Baker.
Gwendolyn Butts was born October 28, 1945 to the late John Paul Scott and the late Dorothy Scott of Norfolk, VA. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and became one of Jehovash's Witnesses in 1958. Gwen met her husband Ronald Butts in New Port News, VA and later married him in 1964. Together, they had eight children; Aprella, Apriel, April, Ronald Jr, Reginald, Tishara, Ryan, and Stehanie Butts.
Gwen was known for her cooking and baking, especially her rolls and her chocolate cream cheese brownies.
She loved Jehovah, when she was in good health she was very active in the field ministry. She auxiliary pioneered whenever she could and whenever friends the friends would meet at her apartment for field service she would always serve a treat afterwards.
She was proceeded in death by her father, John Paul Scott, mother, Dorothy Scott, brothers, John Paul Scott Jr, Bernard Scott, and her sister, Evelyn Atkins.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronald Butts, her children Aprella Butts, April, Ronald Butts Jr, Reginald Butts, Ryan Cobb, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews and cousins.
The Butts family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for your visits, calls, encouraging words, thoughts, and prayers.
They look forward to Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will be mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
