Harold Boyd Robertson, born September 28, 1945, in Millport, AL to Arnette and Idalia Robertson, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 3, 2024. Visitation for Harold will be Monday, August 5, 2024, at Dowdle Funeral Home from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be at Dowdle Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Terrance Cleghorn and Bro. Philip Tomlin officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Church Cemetery in Millport, AL.
Harold was a cherished husband, brother, son, father, grandfather, and friend who touched many lives with his warmth and kindness. He graduated from Millport High School, embarking on a life full of diverse experiences and escapades. He began working at A&P right after graduating, and then, moved on to laying flooring with his brother for 12 years. His longest career path was as a trucker, where he spent over 40 years navigating the open roads. In his younger years, Harold's adventurous spirit led him to compete in horse barrel racing and car racing. He even survived a dramatic fall off a mountain in West Virginia while trucking, proof of his resilience and tenacity. Known as a jack of all trades, Harold loved spending time in his shop, tinkering and piddling with various projects. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a familiar and friendly sight, often seen visiting family and neighbors on his golf cart. His life was a testament of the importance of love and community, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Robertson. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Nancy, who stood by his side through all of life's joys and challenges.
He leaves behind a legacy through his seven children: Shane Robertson, Jeffery (Gwen) Robertson, Jeremy (Rita) Robertson, Michael (Robin) Pritchett, Hebo (Pam) Pritchett, Matt (Deana) Belk, and Angie Aldridge. He also leaves behind a host of other family members and his two brothers, Billy Dean Robertson and Tony (Becky) Robertson, who shared countless memories and adventures with him.
Pallbearers will be Chris Gilliam, Jerry Gilliam, Larry Robertson, Scott Cole, Don Odom, and Kyle Robertson.
There will be no graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Millport Church of Christ.
