James Calvin " J C " Rushing , 91 of Millport, Alabama died on Friday, December 11, 2015, at Sansing V.A. Medical Fostercare in Carrollton, Alabama.

Born Friday, November 21, 1924 in Kennedy, Alabama to the late Clyde Jackson and Naomi Bryant Rushing.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the European Theater of World War II.

He was a member and former pastor of Meadow Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Mr J.C. loved singing and was a member of several quartets over the years, he was also a member of the Lamar County Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Surviving are son, Valford Rushing of Millport, AL, daughters, Shelia McCloud ( Charles) of Vernon, AL and Kim Shackleford( Zane) of Millport, AL, brothers, Avon and Larry Rushing of Millport, AL and Arnold Rushing of Columbus, MS.

A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery, Kennedy, AL.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel .
