James Olen Leonard, 90, of Millport, Alabama, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle on December 16, 2020. There will be a private family service on December 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. Graveside services for family and friends will follow at Higdon Church of God Cemetery in Kennedy, AL. The family has asked that masks and social distancing be observed.

Olen was born on May 21, 1930 to Thomas Burby and Mary Elease (Walden) Leonard in Kennedy, AL. and was a member of Higdon Church of God.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Earnestine "Teny" Watkins Leonard, a daughter, Gloria House, a son, Tommy Leonard and siblings Linda Kelly and Vance Leonard. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah McKay and Lawana Holloway, a brother, Marvin Leonard, an uncle, James Walden and aunts Jean McGee and Juanita Duckworth, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris House, Dylan House, Aaron Boyd, Adam Boyd, Kaden Holloway, Rylan Holloway, David Gray and Greg Robertson.

Honorary Pallbearers are Austin Boyd, Dalton Gray, Dylan Long, Troy Griffin, Ray Vice, Matthew Robertson, Michael Robertson, Noah Garrett, Conner Richards, Staff at Baptist Hospice and Baptist Memorial Hospital 3rd Floor Staff.
