Obituary

James Wharton, 87 of Millport, Alabama died on Monday, September 16, 2019, in Columbus, MS.
He was born on April 25, 1932 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Vada (Fields) Wharton. He was the husband of the late Ella Mae Wharton and a deacon of  Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Seminole Mfg. in Columbus, MS.
He is survived by sons Gary Wharton and Ronnie Wharton (Cathy) of Vernon, AL. Sisters Louise Vail, Kathryn Oglesby, Jean Bolling, Patricia Hollis and brothers, Charles Wharton, Frank Wharton, Buren Wharton and Doug Wharton. Grandchildren Kala Fowler and Alexis Wharton.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Vada Wharton, his wife, Ella Mae Wharton, one sister, Willette Wheat and daughter, Pamela Kay Barnes.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Millport, Alabama.

The Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Interment will be in Macedonia Freewill Baptist Cemetery, Millport, AL.
