Jerry Ray Shelton, 80, of Kennedy, AL, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 8 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL, with Bro. Ray Aldridge officiating and Bro. Gene Nabors assisting. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Kennedy City Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Ray loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed gardening tomatoes and watermelons. He enjoyed raising his chickens, turkeys and goats. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the time he got to go fishing. Christmas was his favorite time of year where he enjoyed decorating with all the Christmas lights

Ray is survived by his wife, Pat Shelton; sons, Bill (Tina) Shelton and Paul (Brenda) Shelton; daughter, Patsy (Mark) Markham; sister, Sara (Raymond) Bumpus; 4 grandchildren, Lana, Amy, Justin, and Trey; 3 great grandchildren, Anna, Brice, and Huxley.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bloomer Lee Shelton and Frances Viola Lett Shelton; brothers, Jimmy Lee Shelton and Lynn Shelton.

Pallbearers will be Justin Shelton, Trey Shelton, Jonas Shelton, Chris Daulton, Joel Stripling, and Lana Shelton.
