Jewel Atkins, 83, of Millport, AL, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Generations of Vernon. She had finally gained her crown! Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Humphries officiating. Vistation will be one hour prior to services from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Jewel loved people more than possessions, she never sought material things. She talked with her sisters Bobbi, Margie and Estlee on the phone every day. They talked and laughed and even shed a few tears. If you knew Jewel, she always said "Let me tell you about my Jesus". Her favorite chapter in the bible was Psalm 91. She will be missed by family and friends.

Jewel is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Atkins; parents, Tom and Effie Humphries; sons, Gary Atkins, Ricky Atkins; sisters, Jelean Vinson, Bernice Smith, Olean Parker, Shirley Swink; brothers, Archie Humphries, Jerry Humphries, and Loyd Humphries.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Lynn Atkins (Vicki); sisters, Bobbie Humphries, Estlee Hopper, Margie Madden, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
