Johnnie Joe Griffin, 71 of Vernon, Alabama died on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Norland Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Born Tuesday, April 6, 1943 in Vernon, Alabama to the late Andrew Jackson and Lovie Lou Leonard Griffin. He was a member of South Carolina Baptist Church and formerly employed with Airline Manufacturing.
Surviving are brothers, James Griffin of Kennedy, AL and Sammy Griffin of Vernon, AL, sister, Ruby Aldridge Upton of Adamsville, AL. Joe loved gardening and his dogs, Mutt and Little Bit!
Pallbearers are Earl Shaw, Danny Shaw, Glenn Stanford, Mark Bryant, Avon Rushing and Gerald Green.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery, Kennedy, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel.
