Obituary

Johnny Stephens, 83, of Millport, AL, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at his residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Jones officiating and Bro. Andy Tentoni assisting. Visitation will start at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.

Johnny retired from BNSF Railroad after 38 years of service. After retirement he loved to fish as long as he was able. Probably the other thing he enjoyed as much as fishing was his love of softball and football. Anytime weather was permitting, you could find him in his lawn chair watching a softball game or football game.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Leaunia Stephens Manning and Johnson Ford Stephens; and sisters, Maxine Jones and Peggy St. John.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Goodrich Stephens of Millport, AL; daughter Marcia Trimm (Harold) of Millport, AL; sons, Drew Stephens (Cynthia) of Millport, AL, Jonathan Stephens (Robbie) of Waynesboro, MS; sisters, Lucy Gates of Aliceville, AL, Shirley Griffin of Pickensville, AL; grandchildren, Reagan Williams (Nick), Jordan Bradford (Coby), Kallie Moore (Chris), Abby Stephens, Stephen Trimm, Caitlyn Brett Ferris (Christopher); and great-grandchildren, Aubree Pollard, Pratt Bailey, Birklee Moore, Henry Williams, Steeler Bradford, Beckham Bradford, and Grey Bradford.

Pallbearer will be Stephen Trimm, Jackson Bryant, Coby Bradford, Nick Williams, Chris Moore, Tim Scrivner, Steve Brock, and Jamie Sudduth.
