Obituary

Mr. Kenneth (Kenny) Glenn Pollard, age 52, of Millport, AL died Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.

Kenny was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 3rd, 1967. He was the first son of the late James (Jim Jack) and Frances Pollard.

Kenny played all sports but most especially football where he was part of the Millport Jr. Tide and won back to back state championships in 1983 and 1984. He was then recruited by Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Georgia but inevitable chose the Auburn Tigers.

After football, he played slow pitch softball with the team sponsored by Bryan Foods. Through his involvement in softball, he met the love of his life, Tina Guy Pollard. They have been married for 27 years and have three beautiful children which they raised in the town of Millport. He was also "Pop" to three handsome grandsons.

Kenny was inducted into the Millport Hall of Fame and the Lamar County Hall of Fame. He was a member of Millport Baptist Church, and was currently serving as a City Councilman for the Town of Millport.

He was a Master Plumber for 27 years and owner of his own business, Pollard's Plumbing. He adored everyone he worked with.

Kenny loved everyone he came in contact with. Countless trips to Dollar General and sharing his Tic Tacs with them. Golfing was also one of his favorite pastimes. He golfed almost every weekend even to the day of his passing. Kenny also had a passion for music. He sang songs to the top of his lungs while beating on the dash of the car. He loved concerts; even attending the band Toto concert last week in Birmingham, AL.
