James Kovin Shaw, 23, of Millport, Alabama passed away on September 16, 2023 in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be Monday, September 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Bro. Andy Parrish officiating assisted by Herachio Washington.    Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. A family only graveside service will follow at Millport City Cemetery.

Kovin was born in Winfield, Alabama on June 5, 2000 to Kimberly Shaw. Kovin was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. He enjoyed a good game of basketball and he loved to joke around with everyone. He loved spending time with his Pop, fishing on the river. Kovin had a soft spot for animals and he had a heart for helping others.

He is preceded in death by his great grandfather, James Shaw.

He is survived by his mother, Kim Shaw, partner Julie Smith, grandparents, Roger Shaw (DeeDee), grandmother Sonia Shaw, great grandmothers Mary Alice Shaw and Emily Shaw, aunts Kandi McAdams (Robby), Kendra Bolton (Bryer), Michelle Vice (Austin), Nikki Edwards (Sean) and a great aunt Rita Tilly (Scott) and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tray Robinson, Logan Jaynes, Kade Keating, Zeiss Robertson, Herachio Washington and Jolee Shaw.

Honorary pallbearers are Sean Edwards, Browning McAdams, Walker McAdams, Kolt McAdams and Drake McAdams.
