Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Jerome Ellefson, 85, of Millport, Alabama passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born in Rockford, Illinois in 1940, he was the third child of Glenn and Lucille Ellefson. Larry Loved life and had a remarkabe spirit; he loved his wife, adventures, his pets, heavy equipment and good food. He gave generously, sincerely and with great love to family, friends, and strangers alike. He was a great leader and husband to his beloved wife, Janice.

After graduating from high school and a short time spent in California, Larry moved his family to Columbus, Mississippi in 1965. Larry was an accomplished master plumber who was self employed as of 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Sudduth Ellefson; daughters, Susie Ellefson, Tawnia Hanna, Michelle Couture, and Kristie Funderburk; sons, Scott Ellefson (Patricia); sisters, Jeanie Meier, Shelia (Jorge) Fuentes, Cynthia (Glen) Kinderman, Pamela (Ann) Ellefson, Imelda Majeski; brothers, Bernard Ellefson; brother-in-law, Bob Pattinson; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mary Ellefson; sons, Jason Funderburk, Eric Ellefson, Steven Ellefson; sister, Diana Pattinson; brothers, Tommy Ellefson, Phillip Ellefson, Patty Weigel; and brother-in-law, Don Majeski.

A celebration of life will be held at his home Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.. Friends and family are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
