Obituary

Mr. Leo Vail, 95, formally of Millport, AL, passed away on December 1, 2020, at his residence in Oakman, AL . There will be a service Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Max Bobbitt and Bro. Chester Shaw officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel. Interment will be at Springhill Cemetery with Dowdle Funeral Home directing.

Leo had a special love and joy for his grandson and great-grandchildren. He had strong family values. Along side his strong family values, he also had a great love for his country and he showed this by being an army veteran of Omaha Beach in World War II.  He took pride in a neat, manicured lawn. He was a former airplane mechanic at the Airforce Base in Columbus, MS. He was also a former owner of H&L Texaco. Leo was a mechanic at Texaco and Earl Shaw's Tire Center.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Charlotte Vail. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Vail, daughter-in-law, Wanda Vail, sister, Doris Hudson, along with his grandson, Jacob Vail (Kacy), and great-grandchildren, Jaden Asher and Addison Leigh. He also has a host of nieces and great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be Terry Fields, Danny Shaw, Walker Shaw, Brandon Shaw, Lynn Shaw, and Earl Shaw.
