Obituary

Mr. Lonnie Earl Noland Sr., 69 of Yeadon, Pennnsylvania, formally of Kennedy, AL. passed away on Sunday,  April 30, 2017 in Pennsylvania. Mr. Noland  was born June 29, 1947 to the late Robert Noland Sr. and Mary Lou Noland in Kennedy, Al., He is preceded in death by his parents, brother,Robert Noland Jr., Sister, Patricia Kay Noland.

Lonnie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at the New Grove Baptist Church in Kennedy, AL. He was educated in Lamar County Public Schools, beginning in Kennedy, Al and graduated in 1965 from Todd High School, Vernon, AL., he continued his education by attending C.A. Fredd, Tuscaloosa, Al graduating in the first class of 1968 with a diploma in Auto Mechanics. After graduation, Lonnie joined the United States Army to follow in his father and brothers footsteps where he served from 1968-1971 as an auto Mechanic . He was specialist 5 Rank, and served one year in Vietnam. After  being Honorably discharged he returned home and moved to Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. He began his career as an Automotive Mechanic at Sears where he worked for more than 30 years. Lonnie was an excellent cook and loved cooking for Church, Family and Friends, loved watching sports especially football. In his spare time he restored a 1974 antique blue Chevy Nova.

Mr. Noland is survived by his wife, Yvonne Lewis Noland, children; Tammy Noland Teagle (Chester), Contina Noland, Tracey Noland, Lonnie Earl Noland Jr., Step-Children; Tamika Taylor, Zanya Lewis Grant (Cleon), Charmaine Jones (Renardo), Mario Lewis (Tanya). Three  sisters; Margaret Storey, Carol Turner (Howard), Melissia Davis (Burkles Jr.). Four Brothers; Richard Noland, Jermaine Noland (Maria), Shawn Noland, Lee Noland (Maenette). 18 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, a host of Nieces and Nephews, Former spouse Betty Cooper Noland, and his beloved dog Buster.

Pallbearers are Tyrone Noland, Lonnie Noland Jr., Desmond Noland, Lee Noland, Burkles Davis lll, Maurice Cornish.

Services will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at New Grove Baptist Church, Kennedy, Al. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.Reverend Michael Brock, Officiating. Burial will be in Kennedy City Cemetery.
