Loyd Humphres, 78, of Millport, AL, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Fayette Medical Center in Fayette, AL. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL, with Bro. David Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Loyd loved the Lord, his family and was loved by his family. He most enjoyed spending time with his kids, Shann and Amye, and grandkids, Dylan, McCory, Anna, Ayla and Bently. In his younger days, he enjoyed building things, working on cars, singing gospel music and spending time with all those who came to "the shop" at his house.

He especially loved Sunday night dinners with his family and bonus kids, Brad and Denise Williams, Allen and Becky Stokes, Kevin and Michelle Phillips, bonus grandkids, Dalton and Cheslee Williams, Grant and Courtney Williams, Demi and Tucker Welch, Austin and Makenzie Stokes, David Stokes and Keeley Moore and bonus great grandkids, Addie Mae Williams, Nora Grace and Baby Stokes and Baby Williams.

Loyd will be greatly missed by all those who loved him and Sunday night
dinners will never be quite the same.

Loyd in preceded in death by his parents, Tom McCory Humphres and Effie Rosalee Humphres; sisters, Jerlean Vinson, Bernice Smith, Olean Parker, Shirley Swink; and brothers, Archie Humphres and Jerry Humphres.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Humphres; daughter, Amye House (Chris); son, Shane Humphres (Jacklyn); sisters, Bobbie Shaw, Jewell Atkins, Estlee Hopper, Margie Madden; and 5 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brad Williams, Allen Stokes, Kevin Phillips, Dalton Williams, Grant Williams, Austin Stokes, David Stokes, and Robert House.
