Lucy Wilson, 84, passed away on August 27, 2024 at Windsor Place in Columbus, MS. There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Bro. Ron Delgado officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, Alabama.

Lucy was born on April 22, 1940 to Hobson and Julia (Maughn) Brewer in Millport, Alabama. She was the sixth of twelve children. After time spent in the Air Force, Lucy made her home in Columbus, Mississippi, where she was employed as the office manager for Dr. James Gatewood for 30+ years. Lucy was a strong Christian woman who was active in her church and shared her faith with everyone she knew. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and made a lasting impact on their lives. Lucy loved flowers and all birds, especially hummingbirds. She will be remembered for her faith, her smile, her love and her laughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Wilson, a sister, Marie Lawson (Bill), and seven brothers, Robert (Barbara), Fred (Judy), Bobby (Nelda), Wayne (Becky), James, Carey (Virginia) and Tab (Brenda).

Lucy is survived by her 2 children, Julia Boucher and Richie Wilson (Brenda), 3 grandchildren, Toby Houde (Shannon), Jade Nelson (Bryan) and Gray Betts (Katie), 7 great-grandchildren, Navi Nelson, Alex Nelson, Jackson Betts, Charlie Kate Betts, John Houde, Seamus Houde and Mason, a sister, Kathy Perrigan (Mike) and 3 brothers, Phillip Brewer (Darla), Jerry Brewer and Jim Horn.

Pallbearers are Alex Nelson, Jackson Betts, John Houde, Brian Nelson, Gray Betts and John McNeil.
