Obituary

Mareya "Mario" Hannah, 43, passed away on June 10, 2023 in Decatur, AL. Funeral arrangements are Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at New Grove Baptist Church in Kennedy, Alabama with Rev. Michael Brock officiating. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Mareya Dequece Hannah was born November 5, 1979, to Andy Hannah and Virginia Odom. He departed this life on Saturday, June 10, 2023, to be with the Lord. He was a loving son, father, uncle, brother, and grandfather.

He was Lovingly called Mario, Hollywood, Gorgeous, Skillet, and Munyo. He never met a stranger and had an unforgettable smile and personality. He was the life of the party and loved making people laugh.

Mario accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church. He was a member of the choir and the usher board.

He graduated from South Lamar High School in 1998 and later joined the Army National Guard in 2000. While in the Guard, he was deployed to Iraq from 2003-2004. Mareya was employed by Weyerhaeuser, Wendy's, and Topre America until his untimely death.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe Ed and Tommie Hannah, Daisy Sturdivant, and Dice Odom; great-grandparents Joe and AJessie Hannah; uncles Dennis (DOC) Hannah, Phillip Sturdivant, and aunts Louise Robinson, and Olene Bridges; and one cousin Ava Latonya Jenkins.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his parents: Virginia and Johnny Odom of Millport, Alabama, and Andy (Bobbie) Hannah of Kennedy, Alabama; wife: Candice Beaty Hannah, three children: Jarrett Bryant, Jonah Bryant, and Aubree Hannah Of Millport, Alabama; bonus daughter: Jaci Williams; one grandchild: Evan Hartman; six sisters: Lakeesha Hannah of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, April Hannah of Columbus, Ohio, Anshee (Michael) Wilkins of Hamilton Mississippi, Angel Hannah of Houston Texas, and Portland Hannah of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Tynisha Hannah of Fayette, Alabama, four brothers: Antonio Hannah of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Andy Hannah Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, David Odom of Fayette, Alabama, Kevin Odom of Northport, Alabama, two brothers-in-law: Mike Martin of Hamilton, Alabama, and Dewayne Beaty of Columbus, Mississippi, one grandfather: Troy Sturdivant, and host of nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, aunts, and friends
